Hobbledown has joined the catering elite after being honoured at a prestigious awards ceremony.
Hosted by Sport and Leisure Catering Magazine, the awards aimed to recognise the very best in the catering industry and took place at the iconic BAFTA theatre in London.
Hobbledown was named a finalist in the Menu of the Year category and was shortlisted for its ‘use of flair, originality, popularity and world-influenced flavours’.
It missed out on the top spot to Galvin at Centurion, the latest offering from the Michelin-starred Galvin brothers.
Hobbedown General Manager David Long said: “Hobbledown has won a plethora of awards within the leisure and attractions industry and whilst we never take any of this for granted, it was truly our honour, privilege and pleasure to be nominated for the Menu of the Year award in such a high calibre competition.
“The food and beverage team should be extremely proud of their Hobnosh achievements.”
The Hobnosh menu is all about providing wholesome, fresh, tasty fast food with minimal salt content – the emphasis being on bringing out the flavouring naturally as opposed to pleasing our salt craving taste buds.
There are dishes from across Asia, Africa, Europe, North and South America.
Hobbledown joint owner Richard Farley, who masterminded the new menu after visiting the very best London food markets for inspiration, said: “Picky or fussy eating can prevent children from gaining enough nutrition or their 5 A Day. Encouraging kids at an early age to have a broader appetite will not only provide necessary nutrition but also boost their immunity.
“At Hobbledown we want to encourage kids to explore the dishes featured on our menu just like they do on our play equipment. It’s an adventure in itself.”
