Easy Kids’ Activities – How to make a tulip out of pipe cleaners
29th Jan 2025
These easy-to-make pipe cleaner tulips are adorable, will brighten up any room – and, best of all, they’ll never wilt!
Use them to decorate an easter bonnet, give them as a gift for mother’s day, or just make them for some creative fun.
- For the stem, fold a green pipe cleaner in half and twist lightly to make sure it’s sturdy.
- Take 4 pipe cleaners of a colour of your choice, and cut them into thirds.
- Take each of these short pipe cleaner pieces, and fold it in half.
- Then line them up side by side so that all the end pieces are at the top, and all the folded part at the bottom.
- Bunch all the folded pastel pink pipe cleaners together, with the green pipe cleaner in the centre. Make sure to line the end of the green pipe cleaner with the ends of the short pink pipe cleaners.
- Take another pastel pink pipe cleaner and starting about 1-2cm from the end, tightly wrap it around the bunch.
- Take the pipe cleaner pieces and bend each of them upwards.
- Then slightly bend each petal towards the middle to create the tulip.
- For the leaves, fold a pipe cleaner in half and twist the bottom of the pipe cleaner, slight pull apart the pipe cleaner to create an outline of a leaf shape.
